Mediaid was formed in February 1991 by a small group of  volunteer First Aiders and   Ambulance Personnel.  The organisations aim was (and still is) to provide onsite
first aid cover to any public event throughout the United Kingdom.

To start with the organisation could only provide medical cover in the shape of some
well stocked first aid kits and a frame tent acting as a treatment area.

However, thanks to donations from members of the public and event organisers, we
were able to purchase our first ambulance in April 1991.

By November of the same year we obtained our second ambulance, which was
converted into a dual purpose vehicle.

Both of these vehicles have since been retired from service but the organisation has continued to grow.  This has only been made possible thanks to the donations that the organisation receives, as Mediaid has no other funding.

We cover all sorts of sports events (American Football, Motto Cross, Horse Shows,
Boxing, Etc), as well as fetes and carnivals.  These events take us all over the United Kingdom.

All Mediaid staff gives their time voluntarily as and when they can.  Our members include qualified Nurses and Ambulance Personnel as well as First Aiders.
